I was dared to go into the cave by one of my friends because of a rumor. A rumor of a vicious monster called The Dragon Naga. His cold would send fear running. And the worst part was that he drains the souls of the innocent and eats them. I held in a deep breath as I slipped inside carefully. I grabbed my mini flash light from my pocket and turned it on, letting the light shine throughout the cave.  As the light from my flashlight shone throughout the cave, I saw something that horrified me. Bones of dead animals and skeletons of people were scattered all over the place. and barely any light shone inside the cave. I shivered in fear as I looked at the bones of the victims The Dragon Naga had devoured over the years.

“Who are you, aru,” A voice hissed, angrily, making me jump.

“And what are you doing here,”

“I’m __________,” I answered, looking scared.

I then felt something rough and scaly wrap me touch my skin. It began to wrap around my waist as I struggled. I looked down in horror to see the tail of a snake.  It turned me around to see the upper half a man with brown eyes, snake like fangs, long silky hair, held in a ponytail, while the lower half is a golden scaled, dragon like snake tail, with red amber fins.

“Didn’t you hear my warningssssss?” He asked, angrily.

“No one issssss ssssupposssed to come here, aru,”

“I was dared to come here, because I heard that you drain the souls of other people and then eat them,” I said.

“Is it true?”
The snake man turned away from me with an angry pout, crossing his scaly arms.

“Why do you believe in that hideous tall tale,” He asked.

“I don’t eat people, well except animals,”

“Everyone here in town talks about you,” I explained.
The snake man turned to me with a sad look.

“But I only eat animals to survive,” He replied.

“And the skeletons of the humans are actually Halloween props that I stole from some stupid kids, aru,”

“But doesn’t it get lonely around here,” I asked, with concern.

“Yes, aru,” The snake man answered.

“I’m used to being lonely, but no one comes here, because they think I am a monster,”

I began to feel pity for the snake man, as I placed a comforting hand on his arm.

“You are not a monster,” I said, firmly.

The snake man turned to me, giving me a surprised look.

“Really,” He asked.

I nodded my head yes.

“Even though you’re different but deep down you are a living being, just like the human race and what’s important is that you have a heart,” I answered, pointing to the spot where his heart is.

“How about I become your friend,” I suggested, brightly.
The snake man gave me a light kiss on the cheek which I blushed. I then looked at him with a curious look on my face.

“You’ll be my friend?” He asked, with surprise.

“No one has ever wanted to be my friend, before,”

“Well you got a friend now,” I replied.

“I’m __________, by the way,”
The snake man smiled, brightly as he shook my hand with his scaly hand.

“ Ni hao, I am Yao,” The snake man answered.

“And I love pandas,”

“I love pandas, too!” I exclaimed, happily.

Yao began to smile, with glee at me, as he gently picked me up with his tail again and gave me a big hug.

“Yay!” He cried with joy, hugging me tight.

“Uh, Yao, can’t….breathe,” I said, gesturing to his tight hug.

Yao looked down and realized he was hugging me tight

"Oh sorry, aru," He said, releasing me.

Then, I heard someone calling me.

“_______, where are you,” They called.
“Did you find anything,”

"No I havent," I lied.

I looked to where they are calling me. I turned to Yao who looked sad that I had to go. I walked over to him and said.

“I’m sorry but I have to go,” I said, sadly, turning to go.

But not before giving him a kiss on the lips, making him blush a tomato red. He gasped lightly, but kissed back and felt a cold chain, around his neck. He looked down to see a panda pendant around his neck.

“A panda,” He said, with awe, as he touched the panda necklace, given to him.

“for me?”

I nodded my head yes in reply.

“It is a gift from me to you,” I explained.

“And also a symbol of the beginning of our bond,”

Yao smiled, as he hugged me one last time, before lifting me up to the entrance with his tail, allowing me to slip through the opening.

I turned to Yao, waved goodbye at him and ran to my friends, who were waiting for me.

“Good bye, __________,” He said, smiling softly as he watched me leave from inside his cave.

“Let us meet again sometime,”
