I sat down on the soft green grass, watching the stars twinkle in the night sky and the full moon shining its beautiful bright light onto the ground. I gently played with strands of my hair, sighing sadly.

“Nice night, huh man in moon,” I said, looking up at the moon.

“Well, for me I’m just in my white prom gown, away from society and also I don’t have a date,”

I looked down sadly, thinking of my crush, the Once ler. I loved everything about him. His optimistic, kind and caring personality, his beautiful baby blue eyes and his bright smile. Sadly, he decided to ask Courtney out, the queen bee of the school. Once ler kept babbling on and on about how he’s going to ask Courtney out to prom and confess his love to her. I pretended I was happy for him, but deep down I was sad.

“I just wish…he would realize that the one who truly loves him is right here the whole time,” I added, as a teardrop fell down my cheek.

“I’m the only one who gets his jokes, and above I love him for who he really is. And I believed in him,”

My thoughts were cut off when, I heard familiar soft crying, not far from where I sat. I slowly got up and walked to find the source of the crying. When I found the source, I gasped in shocked to what I have seen. I see my good and close friend, the once ler sitting down on a bench, dressed in a tuxedo But something told me he doesn’t look happy right now. His head is looking down, holding the bright red rose in his right hand.  From what I can tell, this meant  either Courtney dumped him or probably rejected him.

“Hey…..” I greeted, shyly, as I slowly approached him.

“Hi_________,” He replied, smiling sadly at me but still has tears streaming down his cheeks.

“What happened,” I asked, taking a seat next to him on the bench.

“Courtney….she dumped me, even in prom,” He answered, sadly.

I gasped in shock but deep down I was angry at Courtney for dumping such a kind and carefree person. This is what I hate about society, not caring about what’s on the inside.

“I’m sorry,” I said, as I hugged him closer to me.
“My whole family was right,” He sobbed, as he buried his face in my shoulder.

“I’ll never amount to anything! I’m really am a loser,”

“You will amount to anything and you will become someone greater,” I said, as I gently caressed his moist cheek, lifting his head.

“How…would you know,” He said, sniffing and hiccupping.

“You’re a very kind, honest, creative and carefree person I ever met, in your heart. And that’s why I love you so much,”

“you what?” He asked, looking confused, as my whole face turned red and my heart beating rapidly.

I didn’t realize what I said, til I gasped and turn away, my face still blushing a dark red.

“I love you,” I said, loud enough for him to hear.

“You love me?”

I nodded my head yes, reluctantly and closed my eyes, waiting for him to yell at me but surprisingly no yell came. Instead, he quickly turned me around and kissed me passionately on the lips, making my eyes widen. My heart kept beating faster as I closed my eyes and deepened the kiss,

“I love you,” We both said, together as we looked at each other deeply in the eyes.

“I’m the one who should be sorry,” He said, wiping his eyes with his sleeve.

“I was stupid enough to know that the only person who loved me for who I am has been here the whole time,”

He then kneeled down on one knee and held out his forgotten rose to me, making me smile brightly.

“____________ ________ _________________, Will you do the honor of being my one true love,” He asked, smiling his beautiful bright smile and his blue eyes shining.

“Yes!” I yelled with tears of joy, streaming down my cheeks as I tackled him in a big hug and gave him another passionate kiss, which he truly enjoyed.

“What do we say we have our dance,” Once ler said, as he wrapped his arm around my waist and his other free hand taking my hand.

“I’ll be happy to dance with you, Oncie,” I replied, as we both began to dance in the moonlight.

Ever since, we both shared our kiss and had our dance together, Once ler and I became boyfriend and girlfriend and had our happily ever after, except for Courtney who ended up getting punch all over her dress, courtesy of me.
